why doesn't the whois database lookup ever work? It has never worked!

There is some problem in whois server side (CENTOS Linux) implementation which causes hang of the whois process with 100% cpu usage... it happened sometimes, but then it caused big issues on the server side. If there will be fix for this, it will be enabled again
