Net connections not in History tab

BlueSky2 11 years ago updated 11 years ago 3
I like to see what sites/IP address my web browser goes to.  Also, I like to monitor whether any virus is accessing the internet.  Starting with SE v5.0.0 and v5.0.1, I noticed that net connections are not monitored in the History tab.  This is a regression compared to SE v4.7.0.  My PC is 32-bit Windows 7 SP1.

Also, the v5.0.x options, under the History tab, do not allow setting whether net connections are monitored or not.  I miss having this control.

Since the History is one of the main reasons I use SE, I will be going back to v4.7.0.

If you want add connections to history, then simply add Connections to tabs.
I followed your advice, and it worked!  Thanks.  I will keep SE v5.0.1 installed now.

I saw that you mentioned the new history behavior in your news post, but I was having trouble understanding what changed.  For example, processes are still monitored in the History tab even when the Processes tab is closed.  This is a good thing, but the behavior is different than with net connections monitoring.  Maybe it would be helpful to add a tip to the History tab reminding users how to enable items that are currently not monitored.

When I enable the Opened Files tab, files are not monitored in the History tab.  Was the files monitoring feature lost in SE v5.X?

When I have the History tab enabled, I always want to monitor events, but do I need to have another tab open to enable monitoring them?  Or is net connections the only optional item monitored in the History tab?
